A Portrait of Madness

My artistic goal with this artwork was to capture subtle light and attention. I wanted Cthulhu to slowly come into focus for the viewer.

Secondly, my goal was to explore a new workflow: Adobe Medium. Once I knew the general idea for my painting, I hopped into VR and sculpted the scene. I would say the sculpting itself was the faster part of the process.

After that I brought the model into Blender, lit the scene and then rendered it out. Then it was just a matter of painting and incorporating photo textures.

Total time spent was probably 8 hours from start to finish. VR is such a massive speed up. I can't wait to experiment with it more!
